471 Style Snap-Ring

471 snap-rings are expanded over a shaft and maintain constant pressure against the bottom of the groove and are secure against heavy thrust loads. 471 rings, often used in assemblies subjected to strong centrifugal forces, also are secure against high rotating speeds. The rings have holes in the lugs for rapid installation and removal with snap-ring pliers. The standard material for 471 snap-rings is carbon spring steel.
